Simple Pineapple Upside Down Cake. If you wait too long the sugar will harden and be difficult to remove. Heat on medium until all sugar is dissolved.
Using an electric whisk, beat to a soft consistency. Place the pineapple slices over the bottom of the pan evenly. Cut remaining slices in half; arrange around inside edge of skillet.

Place in oven and bake as directed on cake box.
The upside-down cake is a bit of a Southern staple. The cake's ready as soon as it pops out of the oven. Place pieces of pineapple on top of brown sugar mixture and around the outer edge of the pan, all facing the same way.
